CROATIAN ASSOCIATION FOR DANCE MOVEMENT PSYCHOTHERAPY (HUPPP)
Rules of Procedures
1. 1. GENERAL
1.1 Full name of the association is the Croatian Association for Movement and Dance Psychotherapy, abbreviated as HUPPP.
2. BODIES OF THE ASSOCIATION (see STATUTE p.)
2.1. Bodies of the association are the Assembly, the Board of Directors, the President of the Association, the Vice-President of the Association, and the Secretary of the Association.
2.2. The Assembly is the highest governing body of the Association.
3. MEMBERS
3.1. HUPPP members are divided into regular and honorary.
3.1.1. Regular members are DMT students and certified DMT professionals.
HUPPP accepts Dance Movement Psychotherapy students, students of Postgraduate Specialist Study of Creative Therapies – majoring in dance movement therapy, certified dance movement psychotherapists, university specialists of creative therapies with a major in Dance Movement Therapy and students or certified DMT professionals from elsewhere whose education meets EADMT standards.
3.1.2. HUPPP certified DMT Professional Register
Professional register is established in order to protect the quality and standards of the Dance Movement Psychotherapy profession in Croatia for the benefit of both its members and the general public.
Certified DMT professional members of HUPPP are divided into following categories:
1. Basic registered members – have completed training in Dance Movement Psychotherapy or postgraduate specialist studies of creative therapies – major in Dance Movement Therapy with up to 5 years of experience of Dance Movement Psychotherapy practice.
2. Professional registered members – have completed training in Dance Movement Psychotherapy or postgraduate specialist studies of creative therapies – major in dance movement therapy with over 5 years of experience in Dance Movement Psychotherapy practice and have met all Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
3. Senior professional registered members – have completed training in Dance Movement Psychotherapy or postgraduate specialist studies of creative therapies – major in Dance Movement Therapy with over 10 years of experience of Dance Movement Psychotherapy practice and have met all Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
DMT training for these 3 certified DMT professional levels of membership must meet criteria that are aligned with the EADMT criteria for basic professional training and include the following elements:
1. Personal psychotherapy experience: includes the analysis of training experience and other methods that have elements of self-reflection, psychotherapy and personal experience. It includes no less than 100 hours of individual psychotherapy and no less than 150 hours of group therapy during the 4-year-training period.
2. DMT theory & skills; Movement observation skills; introduction to research
Theoretical study (500 to 800 hours) during 2-4 years of training should contain the following elements according to the EADMT criteria: DMP skills (min 300 hours); DMP theory (min 565 hours), Movement analysis skills (min 45 hours), Introduction to research (min 15 hours), final papers (min 40 hours); work in small groups and reading literature (260 hours).
Theory during training should cover the following topics (according to the Law on Psychotherapy in Croatia): Theories of human development during the life cycle; Understanding other psychotherapeutic approaches; Theories of change; Understanding social and cultural issues related to psychotherapy; Theories of psychopathology; Theories of assessment and intervention.
The minimum number of hours of training according to the Law on Psychotherapy in Croatia and the program criteria of the EADMT:
The education should contain a minimum total of 1430 hours; of which Theory and experiential work in individual and group processes (610 hours).
3. Clinical practice with supervision (Internship)
Practical training includes practice (minimum 300 hours) under continuous supervision (minimum 120 hours) for at least two years.
Clinical practice (observations and movement analysis, reflections and teamwork) 200 hours
Supervision within the program (100 hours)
Supervised clinical practice (direct work with clients) (100 hours)
Individual supervision outside the program (20 hours)
Placement work within mental health institutions or equivalent professional experience: appropriate experience work with psychosocial crises and cooperation with other experts in the field of mental health must be ensured.
4. Personal therapy
Individual psychotherapy outside the program (100 hours)
Registration procedure for a dance movement psychotherapist and counselling of dance movement therapist for admission to HKPT (Croatian Chamber of Psychotherapists) is regulated by the Croatian Law on psychotherapy.
4. REGULAR MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL CONDITIONS
4.1. Regular membership
4.1.1. Only those members who meet the requirements of the Continuous Professional Development and provide evidence of the same can be re-registered as professional members (see CPD).
4.1.2. Professional membership is renewed every 5 years.
4.1.3. Educators who are members of the Association can remain members as long as they are in education in the field of (psycho) therapy with movement and dance, and they can request professional membership by acquiring the conditions.
4.1.4. Only those members who have renewed their membership by paying the membership fee by 31st March can be included in the Register of Professional Members.
5. PRESENTATION OF THE ASSOCIATION IN EADMT
5.1. A delegate or a deputy delegate represents the Association in the EADMT.
5.2. Delegates and their deputies are elected by the General Assembly at the first meeting of the year for a period of one year in accordance with the Statute and regulations of both associations (HUPPP and EADMT).
5.3. Delegate and deputy delegate should be full professional members of the Croatian Association for Movement and Dance Psychotherapy.
5.4. Elected delegate undertakes to attend the General Assembly and act in accordance with the rules and regulations of both associations. The same applies to the Deputy Delegate.
5.5. Every four years the elected delegate undertakes to attend the EADMT conference. The same applies to the Deputy Delegate.
5.6. In case of absence, illness or other obstacle, the Delegate is obliged to inform the Deputy Delegate, the EADMT Board of Directors and the Board of Directors of the Croatian Association.
5.7. The Association will try to reimburse the amount of travel expenses (the actual cost of second-class travel at a low price) to the Delegate or his deputy in the largest possible proportion according to the Association’s means. The amount or percentage of reimbursed travel expenses will be determined by a decision of the General Assembly in accordance with the Association’s annual financial plan.
5.8. The Association undertakes to pay the annual membership fee for the EADMT, which amounts to 200 EUR every year until 1st June.
5.9. The Association undertakes to pay the annual membership fee for SPUH (Union of Psychotherapy Associations of Croatia), which amounts to HRK 1,000.00 (EUR 130) by April 1st.
6. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES OF PROCEDURE
6.1. The above Rules of Procedure are accepted by the General Assembly on 13th December 2021.
6.2. Amendments to these Rules of procedure may be proposed by the Management Board of the Association and must be in accordance with the regulations of the EADMT.
